By Joe Zee, Editor in Chief of Yahoo Style
I joined Yahoo a few months ago to launch a unique digital fashion magazine that would combine my expertise as a veteran print magazine editor with my love of innovation and the internet. Today, I am excited to introduce Yahoo Style: a sophisticated, fresh take on fashion for everyone, from enthusiasts to those who love it from the sidelines.
I had a mission to create a digital magazine that was a study in contrasts — accessible but aspirational, insider but inclusive. For me fashion is storytelling and Yahoo Style is what I hope will be the must-land destination for great and stylish storytelling.
The first thing you’ll notice is the beautiful digital cover of Yahoo Style, showcasing pop culture and style icons like Jessica Biel, our first cover girl. Scrolling through the rest of Yahoo Style, you’ll also find yourself lost in beautiful fashion editorials, designer profiles, first person essays, celebrity interviews, and shopping guides.
One of the many things that excites me about working at Yahoo is the ability to share fashion through the lens of moving image, whether videos, GIFs, or live experiences. We are launching two video series: "Fashion Bites," where I will sit down with renowned tastemakers to learn their tips and tricks and secrets to success, all dished out at their favorite greasy diner. And “Unbuttoned,” an uncensored, honest roundtable series, talking fashion truths of what really happens behind this mythical, glamorous industry.
On Tuesday, Sept 9th, we’ll have the ultimate all-access pass to Fashion Week. I along with style.com editors and our correspondents, will host “Yahoo Style Presents Live at New York Fashion Week with Style.com” delivering six hours of live commentary and big-name interviews, both out front and backstage at the shows.
Follow us at @YahooStyle on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest, and share your fashion questions and experiences.
