Back in December, we announced our partnership with NBC Sports Group, and we are excited to announce a new branch to our partnership: the launch of two national programs that will air across both national cable and digital platforms, that feature the top personalities and experts from both brands, and use Yahoo’s real-time data and signals to both inform and drive the conversation for fans.
First up, beginning this Thursday, Fantasy Football Live — Thursday Night! will debut extending our popular live Sunday FFL show (Noon ET / 9a PT on Sundays during NFL season) giving fantasy fans an edge heading into the Thursday night game and planning for the weekend. The concept will bridge television and digital – starting first on-air on NBC Sports Network and then moving online for another 30 minutes of analysis, picks, intel, news and fun. We’ll integrate experts from both Yahoo! Sports and NBC Sports, including Rotoworld, allowing for a high energy, entertaining, and informative show.
NBC Sports’ Erik Kuselias and NBC Sports Rotoworld fantasy experts will be joined on the net by a mix of Yahoo! Sports talent including Brad Evans, Brandon Funston and Andy Behrens. Then at 7 p.m. ET, the cameras will shift to the Yahoo! Sports studios, with host Melanie Collins alongside Brad, Brandon and Andy and other guests to provide more inside scoop until 7:30 p.m ET on Yahoo! Sports. After the shows we’ll have the best moments available on-demand on both NBCSports.com and Yahoo! Sports.
On deck after Fantasy Football Live - Thursday Night!, starting Aug. 19, NBC Sports Network is launching SportsDash with Yahoo! Sports. The show will air live daily from Noon–1 p.m. ET. and be a cool and unique approach to diving into accelerating sports stories, top highlights and trending athletes using data and sentiments gathered by Yahoo! Sports. Driven by analytics that provide real-time insights into what is starting to bubble up with fans, SportsDash with Yahoo! Sports will set the stage for what will matter most that day in sports. The show will integrate stories appearing on Yahoo! Sports and turn to experts, athletes and guests from both NBC Sports and Yahoo! Sports (including our own Woj, Forde and Wetzel among others) to give fans an insider perspective. SportsDash with Yahoo! Sports will be hosted by NBC Sports’ Dave Briggs and Carolyn Manno.
Following the broadcast, an extra digital-only show will stream live from 1-1:15 p.m. ET on both Yahoo! Sports and NBCSports.com, and feature additional stories, dive deep into an on-going story or have extra time with guests.
There you have it. Two sports shows combining the best of television and the web to bring fans world-class, up-to-the-minute news and updates around their favorite teams and fantasy players. Speaking of fantasy, I gotta go. Time to hit the new Yahoo! Sports Fantasy app to do some mock drafts and start preparing to crush it in my league (check it out – can now draft live on your phone!).
