Re-imagining Video For Mobile with Yahoo Screen

By Robby Stein, Director of Product Management

Heading home, turning the TV on and channel-surfing is something that a lot of us do every day. This daily experience is what we wanted to recreate with our new Yahoo Screen app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

Since joining Yahoo, the mobile team in NYC has worked tirelessly to bring together design, technology and content to create an app experience that helps you find entertaining videos.

Together we’ve built Screen as a simple, intuitive experience that turns your finger into a remote control. Just swipe through channels of content from Yahoo and our great partners then lean back and watch…no matter where you are.imageThere’s a few ways to get started; browse through trending clips, search for shows, or jump right in and start watching. Swiping left and right skips between episodes and swiping up and down flips through channels.

To get you going, we’re proud to announce a brand new deal with Viacom to bring you clips from some of Comedy Central’s best shows, including The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report. Together with the exclusive digital clip archive of Saturday Night Live, Yahoo Screen now offers you access to some of the most storied franchises in comedy history, on any device.

In addition, the Fall 2013 Comedy Lineup is now live. Whether you want to get lost in the best clips of Saturday Night Live or get hooked on new shows featuring stars like Jack Black in Ghost Ghirls, John Stamos in Losing It With John Stamos, you’ll have over 1,000 hours of comedy to watch.

We want Yahoo Screen to be a place where you can customize your experience to your liking while continually discovering new things to watch and share. We hope to make Yahoo Screen the destination for the world’s best video creators and their awesome content.

So go ahead…download Yahoo Screen. No TV required.
